SUV collides with pickup, two laborers killed, 22 injured

The injured were admitted to the district hospital after an accident on the national highway under Rudauli police station.

Bhelsar (Ayodhya). A pickup full of workers was hit from behind by a speeding SUV near the Rozagaon sugar mill on the national highway in Rudauli Kotwali area at around 3 am on Tuesday morning. The pickup’s axle broke in the severe collision and the workers fell down. 22 workers were seriously injured in the accident. The police took the injured to CHC Rudauli. One worker died there and the other in the district hospital. Both the workers who died were residents of Sitapur.

24 workers were going to Mirzapur from Sitapur in a pickup to work. On the way, the pickup driver planned to leave for Mirzapur after visiting Ayodhya. As soon as they reached near the Rozagaon sugar mill on the Lucknow-Ayodhya road, a speeding SUV coming from behind collided with the pickup. The collision was so severe that the axle of the pickup’s axle broke and the axle fell down. The workers sitting on the axle also fell down and got seriously injured while rubbing on the highway.

After the accident, there was a lot of shouting on the highway. Due to it being early morning, the shops on the side of the highway were also closed. No one was visible far and wide. Seriously injured were pickup driver Tulsiram, resident of Pokhra in Biswan police station area of ​​Sitapur, Neeraj, Jamuna Prasad, Ankit, Anoop, Ramu, Pooja, Basant, Karan, Kiran, Raj, Rangini, Ajit, Manju, Basanti, Chandrarani, Manju Devi, Amrit Raj, Jagatpal resident of Rehuwa in Phoolbahed police station area of ​​Lakhimpur, Vivek Kumar resident of Fardha Saraiyamafi, Ram Kishore, Ram Sagar, Gangaram, Raghav Das resident of Jagannath temple. All of them were taken to CHC Rudauli by the police. They were admitted there, where Jamuna Prasad (35) was declared dead and the other injured were referred to the district hospital. Neeraj (38) died in the district hospital. Ankit, Anoop, Manju Devi, Basant and Kiran were admitted here. The remaining injured were given first aid as they had minor injuries. Traffic on the highway was disrupted after the accident. Traffic was restored by getting both the vehicles to the side of the highway.

Passengers are being carried in goods vehicles, administration is silent

In the name of transport system in the region, lives of labourers and poor people are being played with. Cargo and illegal vehicles are running fearlessly with overloaded passengers. For the sake of few rupees, illegal vehicles are running on the roads in connivance with the transport department and police. After the accident, the police starts whitewashing. Senior officers finish their responsibilities by giving assurance of investigation. Dozens of cargo vehicles are carrying passengers on the national highway.

Chaos in district hospital

There was chaos in the district hospital when 23 injured people reached the hospital at around 5 am on Tuesday morning. The teams of all the wards were called in a hurry and after first aid, all of them shifted the patients who were fit for admission to the wards. Superintendent Dr. Vipin Verma said that five patients who arrived in critical condition have been admitted.
