The victim of the gang rape in Ayodhya underwent an abortion on Tuesday. The abortion was carried out by a team of doctors at Queen Mary Hospital of King George Medical University (KGMU). The KGMU administration has refused to say anything on this matter. However, hospital sources and the victim’s mother have confirmed that the abortion took place on Tuesday evening.

The rape victim was referred to KGMU from Ayodhya on Monday. CMO as well as other officials had accompanied her. The team of doctors examined her at KGMU and when everything was found to be normal, she was aborted on Tuesday. In this case, the age of the victim was less than 18 years. The victim was 12 weeks pregnant, so there was no legal hindrance in abortion. According to the Supreme Court order, abortion can be done up to 24 weeks. Earlier this period was 20 weeks. In view of this, the hospital administration decided to abort. After the abortion, the girl’s condition is normal. It is expected that she will be discharged from the hospital soon.

Mother said, even though the police is there, I am still very scared here…

The mother of the minor rape victim said that her daughter’s abortion was done on Tuesday afternoon. According to her, a lot of police have been deployed here, but she is feeling very scared in such a big hospital. The victim’s mother has asked some family members to stay with her. According to her, this is the first time she is in such a big hospital. Police is also deployed for security. Many policemen are continuously on duty outside her daughter’s room. Despite this, an unknown fear still remains.
