BSP has declared Ram Gopal Kori as its candidate for the by-election to be held on the Milkipur assembly seat. He had also contested the election on this seat in 2017, when he got 46 thousand votes.

Bahujan Samaj Party has announced the candidate for the Milkipur assembly by-election in Ayodhya. Ram Gopal Kori will contest the election on BSP ticket. State President Vishwanath Pal confirmed this and said that Ram Gopal has been appointed in-charge of Milkipur assembly constituency. The person whom the party makes in-charge of the assembly constituency is the candidate.
Ram Gopal had earlier contested the election from Milkipur seat in the year 2017, when he got 46,000 votes and was in third place. In that election, Gorakhnath Baba was elected on a BJP ticket. In the 2022 assembly elections, Awadhesh Prasad won on a SP ticket by defeating Gorakhnath.

In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Awadhesh Prasad has been elected MP from Faizabad parliamentary seat. After his election as MP, this seat has become vacant, so a by-election is going to be held here. There are indications from the Samajwadi Party that Awadhesh Prasad’s son Ajit Prasad will be given a ticket. The candidate has not been announced by the BJP yet.
