A heart wrenching incident took place on Monday night in the Patranga police station area of Ayodhya district on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan festival in Ramai ka Indara Majra Ranimau village in which a drunkard father stabbed his only son to death. On receiving the information, the police took the body in their custody, filled the Panchnama and sent it to the district headquarters for postmortem. At the same time, the police has also arrested the accused father for the murder.
Jagdish Rawat’s house is situated on the side of the National Highway in Indara Majra Ranimau village of Ramai under Patranga police station area on Monday night. He lived in this house with his wife, mother and father-in-law, while his only son Rinku Rawat (35) lived separately with his three sons and two daughters on the other side of the highway for seven-eight years.

On the day of Raksha Bandhan, he had come home on leave from the poultry farm to get Rakhi tied by his sisters. On Monday night at ten o’clock chicken was cooked at home and over eating the same there was an argument first between the mother and the son and then with the father.
On this, the father ended the relationship between father and son and first stabbed Rinku on the neck with a knife on the highway, then when Rinku fell, he dragged him to the side and killed him by slitting his throat. Police station in-charge Omprakash took the body in his custody, filled the Panchnama and sent it to the district headquarters for post-mortem and arrested the accused with the murder weapon.
