In a village of Maharajganj police station area, a four-year-old girl was raped by a youth from the neighbourhood. After committing the crime, the accused fled and was arrested by the police in an encounter late at night. During the police encounter, the accused was shot in the leg and has been admitted to the district hospital.
Police jurisdiction Sadar Sandeep Singh said that a four-year-old Dalit girl resident of a village in the area suddenly went missing on Monday evening. About five hours later, she was found near the house of Salman, a resident of the village. The girl was brought and admitted to the hospital and a case was registered against the accused Salman.

After the incident, the accused fled from the village and a team was deployed to search for him. Meanwhile, the police received information that the accused was at Tarapur turn from Ami Alapar. When the police tried to surround and nab the accused, he started firing at the police team.
In self-defense, the police also fired, the accused got shot in the leg and fell down and was caught. CO Sadar said that the accused has been brought to the district hospital and admitted. The girl is also being treated in the hospital. In view of the tension on the spot, a heavy police force has been deployed in the village.
