In such a situation, the work of making and amending Aadhar cards came to a halt in many post offices across the district. Hundreds of applicants had to return disappointed. There were long queues at the Aadhar centres where work was going on. In such a situation, people are having to sweat a lot to get their Aadhar cards made.
According to Amaniganj representative, since Thursday morning, the work of making Aadhar cards was closed in most of the post offices of Milkipur area due to technical flaws and malfunctioning of machines. Even if it was being made at a few places, people were being given tokens for a month later. Aadhar cards were not being made in Milkipur post office at 10 am. When Sub Postmaster Ramkrishna Yadav was asked about this, he told that the machine had gone to the camp last week, since then the GPS is not setting.
Aadhar cards are not being made in the Khandasa sub post office for the last one week due to the printer machine being out of order. Postmaster Amit Verma said that the work will be started soon after it is repaired. The same situation prevailed at the sub post office located in the Agriculture University campus. Waited till afternoon, then returned disappointed
According to the Bikapur representative, more than 40 people were present at the sub post office at 10 am to get Aadhar cards made or amended. Work could not start due to network problems. The situation remained the same till 2 pm. In such a situation, most of the people returned disappointed. Postmaster Shivam Mishra said that work is hampered due to GPS network problems. Tokens were distributed to 50 people in the Bank of Baroda in the morning.
There is a queue since dawn to get Aadhar card made
Sohawal. People are lining up at the post office since early morning to get Aadhar cards made and to correct errors. Parents are forced to stand in line with their small children outside Sohawal and Baragaon post offices. Even after so much effort, the postal workers are taking only 20 applications in a day and the rest have to return empty-handed.
I have come from 15 kms away with my children Akanksha, Khushboo and Rani to get their Aadhar card updated. I got the token but due to network problems I have to return without getting my work done. I have come to the sub post office twice before this.
