Ayodhya. The vitamin tablets sent from Uttar Pradesh Medical Supplies Corporation to the drug warehouse in Darshannagar, Ashapur, turned into powder in the wrapper itself. On the complaint of the warehouse in-charge, the drug inspector arrived on Saturday and took stock of the drug warehouse. During this period, samples of 14 medicines including vitamins and other medicines were found to be sub-standard.

Recently, batch number VBT2431 of B-Complex was supplied here, the expiry of which is February 2026. When it was distributed in hospitals, it was found that the tablet was breaking while being taken out from the wrapper. The pharmacist in-charge of the drug warehouse had sent a letter to the General Manager of Medicines and Quality of the Medical Supplies Corporation on October 10 informing about the problem. Taking cognizance of the matter, the General Manager had instructed the Drug Inspector to investigate the matter.
In compliance with this, on Saturday, Drug Inspector Sumit Verma reached the drug warehouse and inspected it. During this he took sample of B-complex. Besides, a sample of Amaxin Sulphate injection, which was found to be sub-standard in the earlier investigation, was also taken. When found suspicious at the time of inspection, samples of 12 other medicines including Norfloxacin, Ciprofloxacin, Diclofenac, Paracetamol, Amoxicillin Fluconazole, Vildagliptin, Montelukast, Skin Cream, Children’s Syrup were also taken. He told that these samples will be sent to the lab located in Agra for testing. The report received from there will be sent to the government for further action.
