Ayodhya. The Chhathi festival of Lord Shri Ram was celebrated with great pomp in many temples of Ramnagari. There were fifty-six offerings to God in the temples. The gathering was filled with congratulatory songs. Ramarcha worship and other rituals took place. The festival remained the center of reverence with the singing of Acharya-inspired verses like Badhaiya in the courtyard. The joy of Chhathi Mahotsav was seen at its peak at Rasikpeeth Laxman Fort situated on the banks of Saryu.
The temple was filled with songs and music till late night. May the hour of birth always be auspicious, O Queen Jug Jug Jeeve Tera Lallana… Through the congratulatory song, the artists congratulated King Dasharatha on his birth and wished him all the best. Similarly, Ramarcha Mahayagya was performed in Hanumat Niwas. Mahant of the temple, Mithilesh Nandini Sharan told that the process of greetings and sixth song started in the afternoon and continued till midnight.
Under the direction of Shriramvallabhakunj officer Rajkumar Das, Chhathi Utsav was the center of grandeur at Shriramvallabhakunj. Fifty-six types of dishes were offered to Lord Ramlala here late at night. Classical musicians presented congratulatory songs. A large number of devotees were present. Various rituals were also performed at Janaki Mahal Trust on Chhathi Mahotsav. Fifty-six types of dishes were offered to the Lord seated here. Here too the congratulatory song continued till late night.
Janaki Mahal trustee Adi Sultania, manager Naresh Poddar, Ramkumar Sharma greeted the dignitaries including saints and religious leaders. Similarly, the joy of Chhathi Mahotsav was seen in many other temples including Rangmahal, Siyaram Quila, Rasmod Kunj.
