Saryu is losing its purity in Ramnagari, water is turning black

Saryu water turned black due to dirt from Golaghat to Rajghat

Ayodhya. The holy Saryu is losing its purity in the city of Ram itself. Saryu, which is getting polluted, is waiting for a Bhagiratha who can protect its purity. 15 drains of Municipal Corporation are falling directly into Saryu. Because of this, the water of Saryu, which is counted among the cleanest rivers of the country, has now started turning black. At many places the water of Saryu is no longer even potable.

The worst condition of Saryu is near Rajghat and Laxmanghat. At this time the water level is low, due to which the filth of the drains is clearly visible in the river. There is resentment among the saints and sages of Ramnagari regarding this. Local resident Sant Kaviraj Das says that the drains of Rannmochan Ghat, Rajghat and Golaghat localities are falling in Saryu. Dead cattle are also thrown in Saryu, due to which Saryu is getting polluted.

Water flow stopped by making a path in the river

In February, a huge Mahayagya was organized near Rajghat in the lap of Saryu. For this, a temporary path was made blocking the river stream. Due to this, Saryu flowing from Rajghat is coming to a standstill till Jhunkighat. The flow of Saryu has stopped due to the temporary road. The black color of Saryu water can be clearly seen here. The waste coming from the drains is also getting collected here.

A complaint was made to the Chief Minister a long time ago regarding the sanctity of Saryu. After that, the drains falling into the river were tapped, but now the drain water is falling at some places in Saryu, due to which the cleanliness of Saryu is being affected. Will talk to the Chief Minister regarding the conservation of Saryu.

– Some drains at Jhunkighat and Rajghat are falling into Saryu. The flow of Saryu here has also reduced since few days. Dirt has accumulated at many places. Pollution and mosquito infestation has increased. In temples, God is offered and bathed with Saryu water. I don’t feel like drinking water due to it being contaminated.

The Municipal Corporation is fully committed to the cleanliness of Saryu. Most of the drains falling into Saryu have already been tapped. Only one drain is left at Guptarghat, that too will be closed soon. If some small drains are left untapped, they will be closed immediately.
