Ayodhya. On Friday, on Akshaya Tritiya, the bullion market remained buzzing till night. There was a rush of customers in the showrooms from morning till the closing of the shop. The estimated turnover in the city is more than Rs 5 crore. Apart from gold and silver, people have also purchased vehicles.
It is believed that whatever auspicious work is done on Akshaya Tritiya never decays. There is also a belief in buying gold and silver on this day. Due to this, the showrooms and shops located in the city’s Chowk, Riqabganj, Fatehganj and Ayodhyadham were decorated like brides by the bullion traders. Although this time the market was slightly affected due to lack of support and high prices of gold and silver, still a huge crowd gathered to make purchases on the day of Akshaya Tritiya. To attract customers, traders gave five to 10 percent discount on the purchase of gold and silver jewellery. Some businessmen also gave gold coins as gifts.
Naresh Aggarwal, General Secretary of Saket Sarafa Mandal, Ayodhya, said that this time due to lack of wedding season, the business was slightly less. Compared to last year, fewer customers came to the shop. According to estimates, a business worth around three crores has been done in the city.
-Auto mobile businessman Tarun Gupta said that people purchase less vehicles on Akshaya Tritiya. There is more purchase of vehicles on Dhanteras. Two wheelers and small cars are sold more. According to estimates, a turnover of around Rs 2 crore has been done.
