The grandeur of the ancient monasteries and temples, witnesses of the mythology of Ramnagari, will return afresh. The government will beautify 125 monasteries, temples and ancient sites of Ayodhya. In the first phase, 37 ancient temples of Ayodhya Dham are being renovated. Now in the second phase, there is a plan to provide grandeur to 125 monasteries, temples, ashrams and ponds. Regarding this, the Tourism Department has sent a proposal to the Development Council.
For the development of Ayodhya, the government has formed the Ayodhya Tirtha Vikas Parishad. Officials from tourism and other departments have also been attached to this council, who will send the development plans of their department to the Ayodhya Dham Vikas Parishad. The council committee will approve it after reviewing and refining it. In this sequence, a proposal has been sent to the council by the tourism department for the beautification of ancient heritage sites located from Ayodhya Dham to rural areas, which are 88 in number.
Deputy Director Tourism RP Yadav said that the proposals sent by the Tourism Department for the year 2024-25 also include the proposals sent by the public representatives. Till now, work was going on to develop 37 temples of Ayodhya as heritage. Now in the new proposal, a list of 125 temples has been prepared, which includes religious and pilgrimage sites in the rural areas of the district along with places of archaeological importance, monasteries, temples, lakes and places of tourist importance.
Samda lake will become a center of tourism
According to RP Yadav, projects to develop eco-tourism have been included in the proposal. Samda Lake in Sohawal tehsil has been developed as an eco-tourism spot. The rural environment here has been designed and developed as a tourist centre. The responsibility of operating it has been handed over to a private NGO so that its developed form can be maintained. Many other facilities are being developed here to promote tourism.
