Amaniganj. A young man, angry at his friend for talking to his girlfriend on the phone, along with his friend strangled his other friend to death. Later, to hide the identity, they poured petrol over the body and burned it. Revealing the incident, the police arrested both the accused and sent them to jail.
Inayatnagar police station in-charge Abhimanyu Shukla said that a half-burnt body was found on June 4 at Sita Chaura place in Sindhaura village of Harringtonganj police station area. The body was taken into custody and the case was being investigated. At that time the body could not be identified. During the investigation, it was found that Umesh Kumar, resident of Alipur Khajuri, used to call the girlfriend of Sindhaura resident Sumit Saran. When Sumit’s girlfriend told him this, he became furious and on June 4, he reached Umesh Kumar’s house along with Jagdish Kanaujia of the same village on his bike.
He called him over the phone and took him in the car on some pretext and left. He took him from Alipur Khajuri to Sita Chaura cremation ground in his village Sindhaura. There Sumit and Jagdish together strangulated Umesh with a gamchha. After his death, they poured petrol on him and burnt him to hide his identity. A team was formed to arrest the accused. Both the accused were arrested on Tuesday. Based on their information, the bike used in the murder, mobile phone and empty petrol bottle have been recovered.
