In the case of the death of Prabhunath Mishra, a contractual worker of Rajarshi Dashrath Medical College, Principal Prof. A case will be registered against Gyanendra Kumar. Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Anshumali Pandey passed the order on Wednesday after hearing the petition of Jagdish Chandra Mishra vs Kumari Ritu. In this case, action will be taken against 11 others including two MBBS students.

Prabhunath’s father Jagdish Chandra Mishra had filed a petition in the court on September 5 for an investigation. According to him, Prabhunath Mishra, a resident of Haiderganj area, was posted as a computer operator in the Medical College. On July 29, 2024, Prabhunath Mishra had a dispute with Ritu and Nirmala Kumawat, students of the 2020 batch of the medical college, over making registration slips.

A complaint was made to the medical college administration, but no hearing was held. According to Prabhunath’s family members, he was threatened with being implicated in false cases. It is alleged that on August 7, the principal threatened Prabhunath again. After going home, he told everything to his family members and consumed poisonous substance at night. He died on August 8 during treatment at the Medical College, Lucknow.
