There is so much joy in Ayodhya regarding the first Diwali of Ram Lalla, seated in the grand palace, that day and night have become one. Play the drums to welcome Ram and songs like ‘Ram has come’ are resonating in the atmosphere of Ramnagari. Devotees are thronging till late night in eagerness to see the decorated and shining Ayodhya. On the other hand, preparations for the grand Diwali in Ram temple have been completed after 496 years. From Wednesday, there will be a two-day festival in the Ram temple, one lakh lamps will be lit and rituals will be performed.
The struggle for the liberation of Ram temple started in 1528. Lakhs of sacrifices were made in this struggle. When Ram Lalla appeared in the disputed premises on the night of 22-23 December 1949, he started worshiping him on a platform. Then on December 6, 1992, after the demolition of Babri, Ram Lalla came to the tent. Ramlala stayed in the tent till March 25, 2020, i.e. for about 28 years. As long as Ram Lalla stayed in the tent, he continued to suffer from cold, heat and rain. Festivals like Utsav, Holi, Diwali were limited only to maintaining traditions.
Then on November 9, 2019, the decision came from the Supreme Court in favor of Ram Lalla and the path of liberation from Ram Lalla’s tent was paved. On March 25, 2020, CM Yogi Adityanath installed Ramlala in the temporary temple with his own hands. Ramlala stayed in the temporary temple for about 46 months. On January 22, the day arrived which was awaited for centuries. PM Narendra Modi consecrated Ramlala in the grand palace. This is the first Diwali after the consecration of Ramlala, hence preparations are being made to celebrate it with full pomp. On 30th and 31st October, 50 thousand lamps each will be lit in the campus. 56 bhog will be offered to Ramlala, special rituals will be performed.
