Shri Ram Mandir Nirman Samiti chairman Nripendra Mishra on alleged water leakage in Ram Mandir: I am in Ayodhya. I have seen rainwater falling from the first floor but this is expected as the Guru Mandap is open to the sky as the second floor and the completion of the Shikhara will cover this opening. I have also seen some leakage.
As this work is in progress on the first floor, the drain in Sanctum Santorum will be closed as the water slope has been measured in all the mandapams and the water in Sanctum Santorum is absorbed manually. Devotees are not doing Abhishekam of the Lord, there is no issue of design or construction. There was a debate on the mandapams which are open and rainwater may fall in them but it was decided to keep them open as per Nagar Vastu norms.
Water proofing is being done on all surfaces of Ram Mandir
On the question of the roof of Ram Mandir leaking in the first pre-monsoon rain, Ram Mandir Trustee Dr. Anil Mishra said that water proofing work is going on on all the surfaces of the temple to protect it from rain. The target is to complete the water proofing work before the rains begin. There are some places on the first floor where there is storage and goods, only water proofing work is left. 80 percent of the water proofing work has been completed on the first floor.
Anil Mishra said that wiring and water proofing work is going on on the first floor. Pipes have also been installed for wiring, water must have gone down through these pipes. The pipes being installed for electrical wiring are also being sealed. When water proofing is done on the first and second floors, not even a single drop of water will reach the ground floor. The current conditions change every day. The little water that has come down has been managed.
