India will send water from the sacred Saryu river to Sri Lanka for the consecration ceremony of the Sita Amma temple dedicated to Goddess Sita. The process has been started. The consecration ceremony of Sita Amma temple will be held on May 19.
- Sri Lanka, in a letter to the Uttar Pradesh government, had requested for water from the Saryu river for religious ceremonies and the consecration of the idol of Goddess Sita in the temple.
