Ayodhya. The court acquitted the accused of raping a 12-year-old girl in all the cases due to lack of evidence. Along with this, accused Manoj Kumar’s father Dilip Kumar and mother Guddi were also acquitted due to the crime not being proven. This decision was given by Special Judge POCSO Act First Nirupama Vikram on Wednesday.
According to the prosecution, the daughter of a resident of the police station Ram Janmabhoomi area had severe stomach pain on April 1, 2022 in the morning. She told that a few days ago Manoj raped her several times. After feeding her medicine, he threatened that if she tells anyone, he will defame her.
Manoj’s parents got the victim married to him in a temple on April 5, 2022 and brought him home. Later, when his family members came to meet him, they told the girl’s father that they had done a fake marriage to save their son. After this, a case was registered against the accused under serious sections in Ram Janmabhoomi police station.
The lawyer on behalf of the accused argued that the incident report was filed after much deliberation. The victim’s statement is contradictory. The medical report also did not confirm the prosecution’s story.
After hearing the arguments of the prosecution and the defence, the judge acquitted the accused, declaring them guilty due to lack of evidence.
