Ayodhya. Three candidates filed nomination papers from 54-Faizabad Lok Sabha constituency for the Lok Sabha elections. Lallu Singh from Bharatiya Janata Party again filed nomination in three sets, Awadhesh Prasad from Samajwadi Party also filed nomination again in two sets and Brijendra Dutt Tripathi from Ashirwad Congress Party filed nomination in one set. BJP candidates reached the Collectorate after conducting a nine km road show. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami was also present with him during the nomination.
District Election Officer Nitish Kumar said that one set each of nomination forms was taken from two candidates and representatives. Thus far, a total of 37 people have taken 46 sets of nomination papers. The nomination process continued in the DM court room from 11 am to 3 pm. During this, officials related to nomination and other election processes including Assistant Election Officer Rajkumar Pandey were present. BJP and SP candidates have filed sets of nominations for the second time.
Before this, the BJP candidate started the road show from Ramkatha Park. BJP workers were walking on foot in a road show of about nine kilometers till the Press Club, shouting slogans. Two chariots of BJP were also moving along with the convoy of bikes and cars. Mahant Kamal Nayan Das, Mahant Mithilesh Nandani Sharan, Acharya Chitranshu, Mahant Maithili Sharan, Mahant Vaidehi Ballabh Sharan Das, Mahant Parshuram Das and Lok Sabha constituency in-charge Banke Bihari Mani Tripathi were present on a chariot.
On the second chariot, former MP Vinay Katiyar, MP Lallu Singh, state government ministers Dayashankar Singh and Satish Sharma, Mayor Girish Pati Tripathi, MLC Hariom Pandey, MLA Ved Prakash Gupt, Ramchandra Yadav, Dr. Amit Singh Chauhan, former mayor Rishikesh Upadhyay, former MLA Indra Pratap Tiwari Khabbu and Gorakhnath Baba were on board. Camps were set up at various places on Ram Path to welcome the road show. Sharbat was being distributed in these. People present in the camps were showering flowers on the road show while chanting Jai Shri Ram. Workers of Rashtriya Lok Dal, Apna Dal and Suhail Dev Bharatiya Samaj Party were also present. On the other hand, India Alliance candidate MLA Awadhesh Prasad also filed nomination again in two more sets on Wednesday.
