Confusion still persists regarding the by-election of Milkipur Assembly in Ayodhya, UP. The case could not be heard on Monday. In such a situation, there is a possibility that the elections will be postponed for a long time. At the same time, the PIL demanding holding of by-elections is to be heard on Tuesday.

Former MLA Gorakhnath Baba told that the case was to be heard at number 56 in the bench of Justice Pankaj Bhatia, but due to non-availability of the number, the hearing could not take place. His advocate has deposited the prescribed fee for withdrawal of the case.

Milkipur by-election date not announced

In such a situation, due to no decision on the elections, disappointment is being seen among the workers also. It is noteworthy that due to the pending election petition filed by former BJP MLA of Milkipur Gorakhnath Baba and one other, the Election Commission had not announced the date of the by-election of Milkipur.

After this, Gorakhnath Baba and Shivmurti, resident of Dafalpur village of Milkipur assembly constituency, had filed an application to withdraw the petition. The matter was heard on October 17, but due to the petitioners not following the prescribed rules for withdrawal of the case, the court gave two weeks’ time to complete the process.

Situation of tug of war between SP-BJP

After this, the case was to be heard on Monday. Due to lack of hearing, the chances of holding by-elections in Milkipur soon seem to be diminishing. Actually, the SP candidate won the Lok Sabha elections from Ayodhya. After this SP is very energetic. Now by-election is to be held in Milkipur assembly of Ayodhya. There is a tug of war between SP and BJP regarding winning this. Although the matter is in the court. But, not only the parties but also the public is excited about the election situation here.
