Nearly 31 years after the demolition of the structure in Ayodhya, the shackles of traffic restrictions have been removed to a large extent. The barrier has been removed from Teedi Bazaar crossing. Four-wheelers have started getting entry from here to Shri Ram Hospital near Ram Janmabhoomi Path. Now vehicles will not be stopped at Ramghat crossing either.
Along with major festivals, there is a huge crowd of devotees in Ayodhya on Saturdays and Sundays. During this time, the local people as well as the devotees coming from all over the country were facing the brunt of traffic restrictions. On Saturday, these were relaxed considerably. The residents of Ramkot got the most relief from this.
Earlier, only those vehicles which had special permission or had a yellow zone pass could cross the Teedi Bazar and Gokul Bhawan barriers, but now four-wheelers from Teedi Bazar can reach Rampath directly via Katra, Asharfi Bhawan. The entry of four-wheelers was also prohibited from Ramghat crossing, but smooth movement has started here too.
At the same time, the entry of four-wheelers towards Ram Janmabhoomi from Unwal barrier is still prohibited. SP City Madhuban Singh said that some relaxation has been given in the restrictions for the convenience of devotees and local residents. According to security standards, checking and vigilance will remain the same as before.
