The people of Ayodhya have also reacted to the election results of Faizabad Lok Sabha. People say that BJP suffered losses due to polarization of Dalit votes. India Alliance proved successful in balancing the electoral equations.
Acharya Satyendra Das, the chief priest of Ram Mandir, said that this time the public showed indifference towards BJP. BJP candidates failed in doing the maths. They kept their entire focus on urban areas, while they went less to rural areas, due to which they had to bear the loss. India Alliance candidate Awadhesh Prasad focused on rural areas. He solved the maths of caste votes very well. His supporters also coined the slogan Mathura na Kashi, Abki Awadhesh Pasi, which became a hit. When Acharya Satyendra Das was asked why the Ram Mandir factor did not work, he said that he had nothing to say on this.
VHP’s provincial spokesperson Sharad Sharma says that somewhere overconfidence fooled BJP. Also, this time low voter turnout in Ayodhya assembly constituency also became the reason for the defeat. India Alliance got the benefit of polarization of Dalit votes, which paved the way for their victory. In the rest of the electoral arena, India Alliance had an edge over BJP, hence it got the victory.
Janmejaya Tiwari, a teacher at Saket Mahavidyalaya, said that the defeat of Lallu Singh will put a stop to the development and dreams of Ayodhya. The public wanted change, hence the BJP has lost. Awadhesh Prasad got the benefit of the wind of change and was also successful in turning the caste equations in his favour.
Businessman Pankaj Gupta said that India Alliance’s candidate surpassed BJP in booth management. Low voter turnout in Ayodhya was also the reason for the defeat. BJP also suffered due to voter slips not reaching voters and many votes being cut. India Alliance’s booth management was good. Awadhesh Prasad got the benefit of polarization of Dalit, Muslim and Yadav votes.
